Managing Director
Salary: $30,000/yr.
The Managing Director of The Wimberley Players serves three main functions: customer service, office administration, and Marketing/PR. This is a 40 hour per week position with flexible hours. Must enjoy working with the public and be willing to be part of a collaborative, artistic team. This position regularly interacts with production teams. Work environment is casual, but productive. Will attend monthly board meetings as necessary.
Job Tasks
Customer service:
· Answer phones/email to assist customers with information or ticket purchasing
· Update voicemail to correspond with current events/shows
· Sell and exchange tickets by phone and in person
· Be available to be on call on performance dates to assist the box office staff
Office Administration:
· Make sure contracts/insurance policies stay up to date and coordinate with financial department to make sure payments are scheduled
· Make copies/scan documents into network folders
· Open mail and make sure it goes to the correct department
· Prepare weekly financial packets for the bookkeeper and make weekly bank deposits
· Maintain memberships in professional organizations
· Use Arts-People ticketing software to create all events for ticket sales
· Schedule all building maintenance (yard work, repairs, etc.)
· Advise in the creation of budgets based on ticket sales
· Make sure all supplies are stocked
· Input memberships and donations into database as they arrive
Marketing/PR
· Schedule all social media for show/event promotion
· Schedule promotional photo/video shoots
· Design marketing plan for shows
· Schedule all print advertising (newspapers, local publications, etc.)
· Track sales see which marketing efforts have been the most effective
· Provide reports to Board of Directors for sales of events
· Secure media attention for events
· Write and Design email blasts (Constant Contact)
· Update website (Wix) as needed with new information and events
And other tasks as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelors degree in communication, public relations, marketing, fine arts OR 1-2 years experience in a related field
· Knowledge of the theatre industry
· Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once
· Must be comfortable working with technology
